Fun Family Songwriting with Mary Amato

Thursday, July 2010:30—11:30 AMMeeting Room

For Parents and Preschoolers! Join award-winning author and songwriter Mary Amato for a lively musical warm up after which we’ll explore simple steps for making up both lyrics and melody. Together, we’ll write and sing our own collaborative song. This is an intergenerational workshop for kids and adults to experience together. No musical experience is necessary but if you play the ukulele and would like to bring it, please do!

Mary Amato is an award-winning author and songwriter. Many of her books, like the Riot Brother series and the Lucy McGee series, include songs that readers can hear and sing. Her work has been translated into foreign languages, optioned for television, produced onstage, won children’s choice awards, featured at The National Book Festival, and more. She teaches popular workshops on writing and music online and around the country.
